Exploring Downtown Nashville

A while back I was able to explore Nashville a little more than I usually do!

We passed this breathtaking building and fortunately I was able to take this picture while riding in the car!!

It’s cornerstone was laid in 1877 by President Rutherford B. Hayes and it opened in 1882. It was the first presidential visit to the South since the Civil War. It originally housed a post office and the city’s federal treasury and justice departments.

Our tour of the state capital was led by an employee of the Tennessee State Museum, which excited me, knowing that she was doing exactly what I aspired to do in the future!
