An English Girl Lost in Paris

The Opera Garnier is the most famous Opera House in Paris, if not the world, thanks to Leroux’s novel ‘Le Fantôme de l’Opéra’ and the Lloyd Webber musical of the same name. The Palais-Garnier allow visitors to wander round, either as individuals or as part of a guided tour, and discover the Opera. There is basically nowhere off limits once you enter. You can climb the grand staircase, enter the auditorium, stand on the balcony, take a seat in a private box – the opportunities are, for want of a less cliché phrase, endless.

Now, I can’t exactly talk to you about Opera Garnier without discussing the elephant (or should that be Elephant Man) in the room – The Phantom of the Opera.
